SMU-in-Legacy
announces
Soccer Moms - The MBA (Mom's Begin Again) Back to School Workshop
Series
Whether
a Mom who is at home full-time or one who has a part-time job or
office at home, this series is designed exclusively for the MOM
of the home!
In
today's hectic world of carpools, swimming pools, science projects,
teacher conferences, corporate wife duties, running a home and supporting
everyone else, Mom's often get left out of the spotlight. No more!
Introducing the SMU-at-Legacy Soccer Moms' MBA (Moms Begin Again)
workshop series.
The
Mom's MBA is a series of four morning workshops that are built around
the needs of the chief executive officer of the home - the mom.
The sessions held in a seminar space with round tables, will have
limited enrollment encouraging interaction and sharing. Throughout
the course, participants will discover many of their core strengths
that may be hidden but are used daily.
One
attendee mom said, "These topics are valuable and relevant
given what is going on in the world today. This series helps me
take home a sense of empowerment and feeling that there are many
things we can do to help ourselves grow while focusing on our homes
and families. Overall success will depend on what we want to get
out of it. Great idea to offer separate, personal consultation to
help me integrate the content with my own personal needs."
Specific
Benefits from the series --
- These
college-style professional courses are for women whose career
is now their homes and families. Stay-at-home moms say they need
time management, priority setting and behavior change (how to
say no, remembering to take care of personal needs to be strong
enough to take care of others, how not to put spouses after the
kids, etc.), stress management, etc.
- Many
soccer moms have college degrees and business world experience
prior to choosing home management for a while. This series is
designed to help moms use the skills they employed outside the
home to make their new "career" home and family work
better.
